Does Radiccio move, copy, or modify my files?

The only file that Radiccio makes changes to is Librarian.radicciodb (see our article on Librarian), and this is only if you have enabled Librarian (which is disabled by default).

Radiccio does not make changes to any of your other files.

Can I use Radiccio to edit file metadata like name, artist, etc.?

No, Radiccio does not have this feature.

For metadata editing, we recommend an app called Meta by Nightbirdsevolve.

(We are not affiliated with Nightbirdsevolve and do not receive any compensation from them; we simply think it is great Mac software.)

I made changes to my files using Finder or another app. I’m not seeing the changes reflected in Radiccio.

If Librarian is disabled:

Click the reload button in the toolbar.

If Librarian is enabled:

If you are in the Folders view, click the reload button in the toolbar.

If you are in any other view, you will need to do a scan. File menu > Librarian > Scan Now

Please note that scanning may take some time. You can check the status of the scan in the same menu, or in Radiccio menu > Settings > Librarian.

After scanning, you may need to additionally click the reload button.

By default, Librarian scans your files automatically every week. You may wish to change this to be more or less frequent depending on your habits. You can also start a manual scan at any time.

Does Radiccio support gapless playback?

Generally, yes. We make our best effort to support gapless playback. Depending on how your files are encoded, you may find that it does not always work flawlessly. In our testing, it works a substantial majority of the time.
