What can I do with an “On My Mac” source?

An “On My Mac” source is the easiest type of source to understand. It simply means that you have a folder with music files in it. This folder is typically located somewhere on your Mac, meaning that it is on the Mac’s built-in storage volume; but it could otherwise be on an external USB volume, or a network volume. In any case, it should be a folder that you can access using Finder.

“On My Mac” is also what we recommend as the most powerful way to play music with Radiccio. When you use this type of source, you have access to all of the features that Radiccio has to offer.

To start, you will need some music files. If you’re reading this, chances are you have some already; but if not, you will need to obtain music files.

When you add a new “On My Mac” source to Radiccio, you’ll have the choice to enable Librarian or not. Librarian is what enables most of our features for “On My Mac” sources; without it, you can still use the source and listen to music, but you will be limited to a more basic experience that lets you navigate subfolders in a Finder-like way. You can read more about Librarian to help you decide if you want to enable it or not.

Whether or not you choose to use Librarian, “On My Mac” is a fast and easy way to listen to music with Radiccio.
