Can I use an “On My Mac” folder located on a network volume?
Yes.
You can add a new source and choose the location on the network volume, as you ordinarily would. When Radiccio is opened, it will attempt to reconnect to the network volume, if it is not already connected.
As of Radiccio 1.4, the Librarian database is located in your Mac’s internal storage (if Librarian is enabled). Therefore, the database is no longer shared between multiple Macs, even if the source is located on a network volume. Instead, each Mac has its own separate Librarian database. To share the same Librarian data between multiple Macs or other devices, we recommend Radiccio Server.
Can I use an “On My Mac” folder located in a cloud sync folder?
Yes, in theory. We have not specifically tested this scenario, but we are not currently aware of any specific reason why it wouldn’t work.
Please make sure the cloud sync service is configured to download all files to your Mac. Radiccio may not be able to properly handle “placeholder” or missing files.
As of Radiccio 1.4, the Librarian database is in a separate location from your audio files (if Librarian is enabled). Librarian data will not be synchronized to the cloud.
I have a database locking error. How can I manually unlock it?
If you are frequently seeing database locking errors, please contact us so we can attempt to diagnose and fix the problem.
- Quit Radiccio on all of your Macs
- Make a backup copy of your
Librarian.radicciodbfile (important!) - Control-click on the file and select “Show Package Contents”
- Find the file
database-v1.sqlite3-journaland move it to the Trash. Do not empty the Trash yet! Make sure you trashed the…-journalfile only. - Start Radiccio on one Mac only, and verify that the source is working normally
It should now be safe to empty the Trash. However, please remember that it is important to keep regular backups of your Librarian.radicciodb file, as you would any other important data.
